Company History
Family-Owned and Operated for Over 35 Years
Founded in 1970 as the extension of a large, established, Portland-based mail service company, Seattle Mailing Bureau was purchased in 1994 by long-time employee Donna Richardson. Donna and family have together worked every facet of direct mail service. Their close involvement and commitment has assured clients the highest quality and reliability, year after year, and have grown the company into the success it is today.
Donna’s son, Chad Richardson, who joined Seattle Mailing Bureau as a teen, has literally worked in direct mail all his life. As President of the company, he oversees the entire operation and is dedicated to building and maintaining customer relationships based on trust and personal pride.
Old Values, New Technology
Through the years, Seattle Mailing Bureau has grown from 10 employees in a 3,000-square-foot facility to 40 employees in a 40,000-square-foot facility, stocked with state-of-the-art equipment. Handling over 130 million pieces in 2006 alone, Seattle Mailing Bureau is now the largest mailing service in the Puget Sound region and can efficiently and cost-effectively accommodate large jobs that no one in the area can touch.
Investing in and mastering new technology has always paid off—not only for the company, but for its customers as well. That’s why Seattle Mailing Bureau has always pushed to automate and adopt the latest advances in the industry—and why it has often been the first in the region to use a new technology.
